Quality Processes

Our Quality Without Question Program is truly about a quality culture. We believe success requires the integration of critical quality characteristics into everything we do. Every day.

At the foundation stand those leading quality characteristics that span all quality processes, across all industries:

  • A defined end goal: Clear definition of the end goal of the quality process and project is imperative to success.
  • Work done right the first time: Rework is costly and a waste of material and manpower. All MC Industrial quality processes focus on how to do work right the first time and eliminate rework.
  • Individual responsibility for quality: The individual doing the work can only do it right the first time if they are given the right information and tools when they need them. Therefore, our quality processes focus on providing these to the individual and then holding them responsible for achieving the expected level of quality.
  • Verification, not inspection: Inspection finds problems already made. On the other hand, the verification process identifies and resolves issues before they are systemic and additional work occurs over them. Therefore, our quality processes focus on the on-going verification of quality achievement and not only inspection at the end.
  • Long-term focus: All MC Industrial quality processes look beyond the creation of a product to how it is used and its long-term success.
  • Improved quality results in lower costs: The bottom line of all quality processes is to provide value to all stakeholders. If the process does not provide value, then it will not be embraced and maintained.

By focusing on making quality a culture, MC Industrial has been able to establish an industry leading quality program composed of the best tools and approaches of many industry quality processes.

  • ISO: The ISO Standards provide an excellent framework for the creation and management of quality programs. MC Industrial has adopted standard policies and procedures that follow ISO Standards to provide us with a robust framework and consistency between all of our projects.
  • Lean: Lean has many applications throughout the manufacturing, medical, and construction industry, though applied differently in each. MC Industrial has integrated into our Quality Without Question Program several key lean tools, such as Waste Reduction (minimize rework), visual management, material management (site logistics), standardized work and 5S.
  • Commissioning Process: The aim of adopting the Commissioning Process on your project is simple—to ensure all building systems are fully functional when you occupy the facility. MC Industrial fully integrates an owner’s commissioning process into the project through:  embedding your Commissioning Authority as part of the Project Team; and integrating the detailed commissioning requirements from the specifications into the project through a Commissioning Responsibility Matrix. MC Industrial then coordinates commissioning activities as the building systems are installed, started, tested and balanced and documented. We conduct training sessions with staff and users on the operation of all systems, as well as on-going first year involvement in the seasonal testing and training commissioning activities to continue proper system operation.
  • Six Sigma: Six Sigma is a robust set of quality tools to reduce error in a process. MC Industrial has integrated several of these tools, including Quantitative Analysis and Statistical Thinking, Committed and Strong Leadership, Hierarchy of Highly Trained Individuals, Performance Measuring and Reporting, and Reward and Recognition Systems.
  • QA/QC: The 3-step QA/QC Process formalized by the US Army Corps of Engineers has been integrated into MC Industrial’s Quality Without Question Program through our Pre-Installation Meetings, 1st Installation Verification and Testing, and On-Going Verification and Testing activities.
